The Labin Republic was a short-lived self- governing republic that was proclaimed by the miners from Istrian city of Labin on March 2, 1921. Their rebellion is considered the first antifascist rebellion in history. The documentary dives into the mystery of the republic and the legend it has become. The true values of the miners come back to light: multiculturalism, unity and courage.
One hundred years later, the film crew who themselves are descendants of these miners, reconstructed the event behind the Labin republic and its echo in the local population and beyond.
